TOP STORY: Greenwich Police Department Misconduct

Over Zealous Members Of Greenwich Silver Shield Police Police Union Found Harass And Falsely Charge Greenwich Resident....

Bogus Greenwich Police Department Warrant Thrown Out Of Court
State drops charges against accused Greenwich stalker
Greenwich Time
A Greenwich man accused of repeatedly stalking his ex-girlfriend from 23 years ago was cleared of a new set of charges Tuesday after a prosecutor from the Chief State's Attorney's Office said the physical evidence did not match the allegations in the warrant.

..."After an investigation, it became clear the allegations were not correct," said Senior Assistant State's Attorney Kevin Dunn. "The physical evidence contradicts what was in the warrant. It would not be possible for the state to go forward."....

...Jennings' lawyer said his client has a time-stamped receipt from the gas station showing he was at the station before the victim pulled into the area, and therefore was not following her.

Attorney Richard Meehan billed Tuesday's dismissal of charges as a victory for his client, who has been dealing with the criminal justice system for more than two decades as a result of his relationship with the woman.

"This has been a long ordeal for Mr. Jennings and his family,"...

....Lt. Richard Cochran, a police supervisor familiar with the Jennings' case, said in June he believed Jennings was a "serial stalker" who belonged in jail.

However, Meehan said Tuesday he felt an apology from the police was in order because their conduct was "over the top."

Cochran could not be reached for comment Tuesday....

COMMENT:

This Conduct Is Allowed To Exist, Because Greenwich Patrol Officers, Police Supervisors And Police Detectives Are In The Same Police Union.

If Mr. Jennings Wants to Complain About Police Misconduct By A Member Of The Greenwich Silver Shield Association, Then Greenwich Police Department Procedures Dictate That He Must First Talk To A Greenwich A Police Sargent Who Is A Member Of The Silver Shield Police Union.

Then And Only Then Can A Person Be Given A Civilian Complaint Form From The Sargent Who Is A Member Of The Greenwich Silver Shield Union.

The Civilian Complaint Is Often Investigated By Current And Former Silver Shield Police Union Members.

Sometimes The Complaint Is Never Responded To And There Have Been Incidents Where Former And Current Silver Shield Officers Have Cleared A Silver Shield Officer Without Ever Interviewing The Citizen Complaining Or Wittiness Supporting the Citizen's Complaint.

An Example Of This Is The Case Of Former Silver Shield Member Terrel Hardy.

Greenwich Police Officer Hardy Was Cleared Or Given A Slap On The Wrist Multiple Times On Very Serious Civilian Complaints, By Current And Former Silver Shield Police Union Members.

Greenwich Police Officer Terrel Hardy Was Eventually Removed From His Position And Then Turned Around And Successfully Sued The Town Of Greenwich Police Department For Racial Bias.

If There Had Been An Independent Citizen's Review Board Of Police Complaints, Then Terrel Hardy Most Likely Would Have Been Removed From His Position For Cause Very Early On Is His Greenwich Police Department Career.

Officer Hardy Most Likely Would Have Been Removed For Cause Long Before The Racial Discrimination Lawsuit Was Filed.

Allowing Current And Former Silver Shield Union Members To Receive, Investigate and Recommend Punishments For Greenwich Police Union Members Allows Bad Apples To Stay On The Greenwich Police Force And Sets The Town Up For Litigation.

Greenwich Needs And Independent Civilian Complaint Review Board To Handle 50 To 80 Police Misconduct Reports That Get Past The Silver Shield Police Union Sargents.

Often Times Greenwich Citizen's Who Write About Or Complain About Greenwich Police Department Get Harassed By Silver Shield Union Members

04/09/10 Should You Get Involved If You See A Neglected Child? Think Twice - Your Life Could Be In Danger If You Contact DCF About A Greenwich Child

Dear Greenwich Roundup,

I am having a real problem with the Greenwich Police Department.

i filed a complaint against two people because of a severely neglected child who is 1 year old child, named Lexi Whose Mother Is Natasha Mckenzie.

A lot of people were concerned about this baby, but have been afraid to anything about it.

i drove a friend to Arch Street School because she did not have a ride and no one could take her.,

As soon as i pull up a guy by the name of Steven Rodas who i filed the DCF complaint against because of child neglect comes up to my car and says get out because im going to rock your shit right here

He even opened the door and then i finally get out and his friend comes over and says if you say one disrespectful thing I'm gonna lay you out right here.

The Greenwich Public School teachers finally come out and tell Rodas to stop and tell me to leave.

Later my friend and family adviced me to go file a complaint against Rodas at the Greenwich Police Department.

They refused to allow me to file the complaint and they said theyre going to talk to Rodas.

When i asked what can i do because I know there going to come after me over the DCF child neglect complaint the a police officer responds "Don't worry they wont they take the bus".

Later that night a group of 7 or 8 people tried to hunt me down while i was at my friends house.

My friend was very scared and came into his living room and told me to stay there as he turned off the lights.

There were a group of people looking in cars trying to see if it was my car.

So i go to the Greenwich Police Department once again,

i waited 20 minutes and then GPD officer comes out and literally was smiling and laughing while I told him what my issue was. This Greenwich Police officer said come back in the morning and talk to a Greenwich Police Department Detective who was handling something unrelated to this.

Greenwich K-9 Officer Mike Machai sarcastically said, "You are on your own."

I call the police and ask why aren't you helping me and they hang up on me.

I gave them some very harsh words. at one point a Sargent Ryan comes on the phone and tells me to come in and file a complaint in the morning.

So i go back in the morning and talk to a Detective Manning who was handling the original complaint

I told him what had happened and he told me just keep a cell phone on you and call 911. meanwhile I have people trying to hurt me, ive received multiple threats and people are showing up at places i hang out.

My question for you is. who do i go to for help if the police cant help me. is there anyone above the police who can do something because right now im not going to bother going to them.

When it comes to my safety the Greenwich Police Department wont do a thing while if it involves a friend or family member they go nuts.

I know this isnt your problem but if you know anyone please let me know.

04/06/10 Reader Submitted Comments: Greenwich Police Department Is One Sided

Just recently police were called to a house in Greenwich after there was a disturbance reported.

Meghan Grabarz who is the daughter of retired police officer Michael Grabarz came to pick up and drop off someone who was visiting the house. There was someone at the residence who police had told to stay away from Meghan Grabarz yet knowing that the person was there she proceeded to pull up in front of the house.

The person who police told to stay away, saw Meghan Grabarz pull up outside.

Meghan Grabarz had told someone at that house that she was going to kill that person who had been ordered by the Greenwich Police to stay away from.

This person who saw Meghan Grabarz pull up proceeded to go over to her vehicle and confront her regarding the threat.

She then proceeded to speed away, while yelling out the window.

About 15 minutes a police officer by the name of Mike who is in charge of the K-9 unit, showed up. He then asked to speak to the individual who was involved in the altercation.

Mike proceeded to use extreme profanity against this person telling this person "that he could arrest you motherf***** on the spot and I can kick your ass while I'm doing it."

01/07/08 - The Police Department Wont Stop It's Unethical And Illegal Retailitory Practices - It's Time To Contact Victims For A Class Action Lawsuit

.....Mr. Bertino's attorney Kevin Coles stated in the lawsuit that Officers Daniel Hendrie, John King and Eric Scorca, as well as, Lt. Heavey failed and refused to properly investigate the situation before arresting Mr. Bertino.

Moreover, attorney Kevin Coles says that Greenwich Police Officers lacked probable cause to make the arrest.

Now here is where it gets interesting.

The lawsuit also states that the Town Of Greenwich and the Greenwich Police Department failed to investigate a misconduct complaint Mr. Bertino filed against the officers.

Once again the Town Of Greenwich and it's Police Department is failing to provide constitutionally protected due process rights to it's citizens that make misconduct complaints about the police department....

....Mr. Bertino's lawsuit hits the nail on the head when his attorney Kevin Cole writes...

The Town Of Greenwich and the Greenwich Police Departments failure to investigate amounts to deliberate indifference to the safety and the rights of persons.

Did You Ever Notice That The Greenwich Police Department

Is Having Its So-Called Stalking Cases

Becoming Duds In Court

On April 8th Willie Hickson was charged with first-degree criminal trespass and third-degree stalking Ophrah Winfrey's Best Friend Gail King Who Was Living On Richmond Hill Road.

Mr. Hickson was held on $25,000 bond

Public defender Howard Ehring Hickson was simply trying to get a copy of a political expose he had written to Oprah.

On April 20th, a jury began to be impaneled.

On April 21st, States Attorney

Mitchell Rubin

said Mr. Hickson won't be charged and that they had dropped the case.

Initially after Mr. Hickson's arrest, police stated in their reports that Ms. King was "adamant" that Hickson be charged with a crime because she feared for her safety.

However, if the criminal trial proceeded, it is likely Ms. King would have been called to testify. When it came time to go to court Ms. King refused to testify about the Greenwich Police Department arrest.

Guess What ....
