The explanation appeared in the BLOG box on the right side of the paper's home page, that soon disappeared as angry Greenwich Time readers started complaining.
Too bad.
The corporate editors at Hearst Newspapers cut themselves off from some of the most informed and challenging reactions to its work, admittedly admixed with a dash of trash - a small price to pay for candor.
Maybe, David "The Censor" McCumber Should Get Out Of The Greenwich Time Kitchen If He Can't Take The Heat From His Newspaper's Readers
