POSSESSION

Kelsey Curley, 18, of 296 Delavan Ave. was arrested March 19 and charged with possession of marijuana under four ounces, driving under the influence, simple trespass and possession of a controlled substance. While patrolling Grass Island Park, police reportedly saw a car with its engine running stopped between boats that had been dry docked for the season. Police said officers smelled marijuana and ordered Curley out of her car, then discovered a hand rolled, thin cigar filled with marijuana. According to police, a further search of the car revealed two other, smaller cigars that had been burnt on one end and a prescription bottle that had been prescribed for Curley’s father. Police reports said the bottle contained two broken white pills and one gel tablet. Police said Curley slurred her speech during the investigation and failed field sobriety tests. Curley was released on a $500 cash bond and is due in court March 26.

03/20/08 - Why Won't Betty "You Can Trust Me" Sternberg Let Hamilton Avenue Parents Independently Test The Contaminated Modular Classrooms?

This IS EXACTLY Why The Parents Don't Trust

Betty
"You Can Trust Me"
Sternberg

And Her Failed School Administrators

Here's a Greenwich School reply to a concerned parent's request asking for permission to have a parent paid expert take test samples of the modulars.

Just what is
Betty "You Can Trust Me" Sternberg
hiding?

Where is the independent testing that the parents and taxpayers were promised?

What would it hurt to let the parents to test the modular classrooms?
Is anyone in Greenwich surprised at this response to a concerned parent?

Betty "You Can Trust Me" Sternberg
is soooooooo sneaky.

I bet the single family home owners of Greenwich know about this.

Betty "You Can Trust Me" Sternberg has authorized 3 day compensatory bonuses for her top staff, including Sue "Please Don't Fire Me" Wallerstein, for all their hard work over the last few weeks due to the closing of the modulars.

Hey in the Greenwich School System you don't get fired if you screw things up......

You get a freaking bonus !!!!!

Do the member's of the Board Of Education know about the bonus for screwing up at the modular classrooms?

Probably, because a dim witted Board Of Education Member had the audacity to state at a Hamilton Avenue School PTA meeting that the parents should be thanking Betty "You Can Trust Me" Sternberg and Sue "Please Don't Fire Me" Wallerstein for all their hard work.

Is this dim witted school board member on drugs?

Maybe it's just me, but if I was a Hamilton Avenue School parent I'd be damned if I were going to thank the people for trying to fix their own messes!

WHY AREN"T HAMILTON AVENUE SCHOOL PARENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO INDEPENDENTLY TEST THE CONTAMINATED MODULAR CLASSROOMS ?

Dear Laura,
Mike Bodson forwarded your email to me as Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Facilities. We understand your concern about the status of the modulars. As you know, the decision was made to close the school once the mold condition in the unoccupied areas of the building was discovered. EAS, an outside firm with expertise in this area, with assistance from an independent testing laboratory, has been handling the evaluation for the district, and has confirmed acceptable air quality inside the building. The additional tests results that were received yesterday indicated that it is safe to remove the materials from the building. To give you greater confidence in the results, we can arrange for your representative, at your expense, to have a meeting with Mr. Schwartz to discuss his testing protocol and methods and can provide you access to the tests results. We are still limiting access to the building and will be unable to accommodate the testing you requested. Please let us know if you would like to arrange the meeting with Mr. Schwartz.
Regards,
Leslie Moriarty

This Cold And Insensitive Email Was Sent In Response To This Written Request By A Parent Concerned About The Children Who Were Confined In A Contaminated Modular Classroom For Over One Year.

Ladies and Gentlemen -

At both the meeting of the newly established Facilities Committee and the last BOE meeting, much was made of earning back trust and faith in the Board of Education.

With that goal in mind, it would behoove the members of the Facilities Committee and the Board of Education to allow the parents to hire a testing company to go into the modulars and test the air quality, soil, water and building.

The parents want to have faith in the people who are hired to teach and protect our children. By allowing us this opportunity, you extend the necessary branch that is needed to help that goal along.

Please understand that your response to this request will be very telling to the parents of Hamilton Avenue School, and the community at large.

Sincerely,

Laura J. DiBella

Police do not release the names of those 17 years old and younger because they are protected as juveniles or youthful offenders. The Post does not publish the names of those arrested in domestic violence incidents to protect the identities of the victims. The following are today's released arrest reports :

POSSESSION

John Diamontopulos, 18, of 502 Cognewaugh Road, Cos Cob, William Vernon, 18, of 32 Horseshoe Road, Cos Cob, and Joseph Scorese, 21, of 17 Fletcher Ave. were all charged with possession of a controlled substance after a drug arrest on March 17. Police had been doing surveillance of a location in town known for drug deals and reportedly saw the three men acting in a manner associated with drug sales and consumption. According to police, Diamontopulos got into a car with the other two, which police followed into Stamford, first to one parking lot, then another and then back to the first. Police said they then saw a hand-to-hand drug transaction and followed the car back into Greenwich, where it was involved in a one-car accident. Police found a bag of marijuana at the scene and said Diamontopulos was also in possession of some. He was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy to possess marijuana. Vernon, who was driving, and Scorese were also additionally charged with conspiracy to possess marijuana. All three were released on $500 cash bonds and were due in court March 24.

POSSESSION

Mirna Acosta-Morales, 20, of Port Chester, N.Y., was arrested March 18 and charged with possession of marijuana under four ounces and risk of injury to a minor. Police on patrol saw a vehicle traveling north on the southbound off ramp for Interstate 95 at Exit 3 and pulled the car over. Once it was determined there was no need for medical assistance, Acosta-Morales was directed toward the Horseneck parking lot and interviewed. Police allegedly smelled marijuana and a clear cellophane bag with a green, leafy substance that later tested positive for marijuana, was reportedly found. Acosta-Morales had with her a 15-year-old passenger in the car. She was additionally cited for driving the wrong way and was released on a $250 cash bond. She is due in court March 25.

Auditorium panel picked

Greenwich Time - Staff Writer

A mix of town legislators, parents, and construction professionals were chosen by the Board of Selectmen yesterday to oversee the renovation of the Greenwich High School auditorium to create a performing arts center with more concert and classroom space.

First Selectman Peter Tesei said the membership of the committee, which is required by the Town Charter, represents a breadth of experience that will help deal with any obstacles on the $23.4 million project....

... The Board of Selectmen also nominated Bruce Dixon for the board of directors of the Nathaniel Witherell nursing home, and reappointed Bernadette Settelmeyer, a Republican, to another five-year term as Greenwich Housing Authority commissioner.

Dixon, a licensed pilot, will probably continue to serve as chairman of the Selectmen's Committee on Aircraft Noise, Republican Selectman Peter Crumbine said.

"I've worked with him for several years now on the aircraft noise issue and he will continue to work on that issue," Crumbine said.
