....According to police files, Greenwich police and the state Financial Crimes Task Force are investigating a similar ATM crime that occurred in Greenwich a week earlier.


Just after closing March 19, two men entered a Bank of America branch in Greenwich and stuck a scanning device on the ATM machine, the files said. After a short time, bank employees noticed the scanner and deactivated the ATM.


Before a technician arrived, the suspects returned to the bank and took back the device, according to the files. The men are believed to be from eastern Europe, according to the files.


Greenwich Detective Mark Solomon said he could not comment on the Greenwich case or how it may be connected to the Norwalk case. ...
