03/13/10 The Town Emergency Management Center Has Been Opened

The town is gearing up for the Noreaster that is getting ready to blow into Greenwich.

Greenwich First Selectman Peter Tesei has ordered the activation of the Emergency Management Center.

UPDATE:

Town Hall Insiders tell Greenwich Roundup that

There are two dozen Department of Public Works employees and one dozen Parks Department employees on call and ready to be deloyed.

UPDATE #2
King Street is a diaster area.
Greenwich Roundup just had to drive under a tree hanging on power lines as he went to serve coffee at Saturday Evening services.
Power is going in and out on King Street.
More town tree crews are needed.
Greenwich Roundup is unable to check how many tree crews are currently available.
UPDATE #3
The Harvest Time Church Air Dome has been damaged and the Greenwich Fire Department can not respond to the collapse.
Town DPW And Parks employees have been pulled off the job.
Almost Every road is closed in Northwest Greenwich.
684 is open.
