Connecticut a leader of the pack in pro-labor legislation

Connecticut lawmakers consider fining corporations with 500 or more workers $1 an hour for each employee who earns less than $15 hour Home to the biggest wealth gap in the nation -- think Bridgeport and Greenwich -- the state is making a strong case nationally that is the among the most sympathetic to the agenda of unions. It was the first to commit to raising the minimum wage to $10.10 by 2017 and to pass paid sick leave, earning acclaim from President Barack Obama for Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy and his progressive agenda.
