A 24-year-old man is in Greenwich Police custody following his arrest on charges he stole a SUV and engaged police in a pursuit before crashing the vehicle on I-95. The suspect apparently caught the attention of police who saw him driving 2006 Ford Freestyle on Ritch Avenue without the headlights illuminated shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, according to a police report.
