The State Bond Commission approved $5.75 million Monday morning for designing several new railroad stations, including Orange, and enhancements to the Merritt 7 stop on the Danbury branch of Metro-North. During the monthly meeting of the agency, which is controlled by Democrats led by Gov. Dannel P. Malloy , state Sen. L. Scott Frantz , R-Greenwich questioned the governor's ambitious transportation vision at a time when the General Assembly is facing a billion-dollar budget in the fiscal year that starts July 1. Malloy said he will be releasing details on exact proposals over the next several weeks, culminating in his February 18 budget proposal.
