Urstadt Biddle sells Springfield, Mass., mall for $31 million

Urstadt Biddle Properties, a Greenwich-based real estate investment trust, said it has sold a 328,000 square-foot retail shopping mall in Springfield, Massachusetts, known as the "Five Town Plaza Shopping Center," for $31 million in cash. The property was sold to an institutional real estate company, and Urstadt Biddle will use the proceeds of the sale to repay existing debt, it said in a statement after markets closed on Thursday.
