Greenwich Post Breaking News Alert

Breaking News Alert

Prominent Greenwich Democrat Nancy Barton dies.

Remembering her intelligence, her love of travel and her community spirit, friends and colleagues across party lines are mourning the loss of former Board of Estimate and Taxation member Nancy Barton, who died Friday night at the age of 60 at Stamford Hospital.

Ms. Barton served not only on the BET for six years until just last month but also as board president of the Child Guidance Center in town. She ran unsuccessfully for state senate last year, challenging Sen. L. Scott Frantz (R-36) for a seat that has strong ties to her family. Ms. Barton’s grandfather, Allen, was the last Democrat to be elected to that state senate seat 80 years ago. Ms. Barton’s campaign earned her the praise of her Democratic colleagues and her Republican opponent, all of whom remembered her intelligence, grace and strong desire to serve the public.

Ms. Barton had struggled with health problems throughout the last year. While she had initially felt she was able to run for a new term on the BET and was renominated in July, her health forced her to withdraw her name from nomination and resign from the board in September. An exact cause of death has not been released yet, but she had suffered from liver complications related to diabetes recently.

10/08/11 An Apple Fan Boy At Greenwich CT.com Needs To Learn The Truth About Steve Jobs And Apple Before He Goes Out And Over Pays For Technology

Greenwich CT.com

How a Greenwich CT firm became 100% Mac.

Posted: 07 Oct 2011 05:41 AM PDT

When Belpointe Asset Management launched I went out and bought 6 PCs. I’d always used Macs but unfortunately in 2007 the financial world was 100% PC. At the time my staff had only used PCs and so I assumed the need to support them on PCs would be minimal. Boy was I wrong. Normal usage...

Hey, I Have Got An Idea. Let's Start Telling The Truth About Steve Jobs ....

Steve Jobs didn’t give money to charity. And when he became Apple’s CEO, he stopped all of their philanthropic programs. He wanted to wait until they were profitable. Now, they are profitable, and sitting on $76 Billion in cash, and still no corporate philanthropy.

Steve Jobs lied to Steve Wozniak When they made Breakout for Atari, Wozniak and Jobs were going to split the pay 50-50. Atari gave Jobs $5000 to do the job. He told Wozniak he got $700 so Wozniak took home $350.

Steve Jobs denied paternity on his first child, lying that he was sterile. The poor mother had to initially raise the kid using welfare checks. Welfare that you helped pay for with your tax dollars.

Apple Fanboys are a single-layered thinking drone originally thought to exist in only small numbers. To help them assimilate into the real world, a computer with only simple functions so that the drones don't get confused was created. Eventually, more products were produced after it was discovered that the number or drones are in the millions. While scientists have been unable to find ways to increase brain performance in this species, a corporation named "Apple" has had financial success in at least convincing that the drone specimen is vastly superior to that of everything else.

John: - Look there's Tom with his new iPad.
Jack: - He has AFS...
John: - What?
Jack: - Apple Fanboy Syndrome..
John: - Oh yeah he's an ignorant Apple Fanboy!
Tom: - Look guys I've got the iPad!!!!!!! ;))))) :)))))
Jack: - Does it have Flash? or Multitask?
Tom: - Look I can flick through pictures with my fingers!!!!!!!

What's an Apple Fanboy?

A person who fits at least one of the following:

1. only knows how to use a Mac and cannot handle a PC, gets very frustrated using one.

2. thinks that Macs' hardware are much better (although statistically their failure rates are not that different than other laptops).

3. over exaggerate his/her passion for Mac products. e.g. I *need* an iPad to read my newspaper and magazines.

4. uses Apple as a status symbol.

5. buys a new Mac product without knowing the prominent features. e.g. GPS and FaceTime in iPhone 4.

6. thinks he/she is technologically savvy but actually knows very little about technology e.g. does not know the difference between 3G and EDGE, 3G versus Wi-fi.

7. Owns many Mac products and is very proud of it.

8. Feels entitled to get a new Mac product on launch day and get unreasonably angry when failing to do so.

9. Has absolutely no idea what open source is.

10. Thinks that the new features that Apple introduces are ground-breaking even though they had been available for years. e.g. 3G, multitasking.

11. When their Apple products fail instead of admitting that Macs can fail sometimes just like PCs, focus on how amazing the experience of getting it replaced at the Genius Bar.

12. Although Macs are better than a PC in some areas (and vice versa), does not know any of the evidences; just *think* that Macs are better.

13. Feels special and cool to own a Mac product although it is no longer a cult to own a Mac product, unlike 10 years ago.

According to the League Of Women Voters, Mrs. Budkins wasn't able to debate because someone in the family is sick, even though someone is sick it looks like she can attend a Greenwich Republican shindig.

Carmella's party was exactly one week after the first of many proposed dates by the League of Women Voters, and get this ....... It was the day before the League Of Women Voters recommended that she and Democratic candidate Stephen Ng speak for just 15 minutes after the First Selectman debate.
