RABBI AVI WEISS TO DISCUSS
SPIRITUAL ACTIVISM
AT JCC GREENWICH "GREAT MIND SERIES"

Greenwich, CT, November 3, 2011 -- JCC Greenwich is proud to present a special evening with activist, author and teacher Avi Weiss on Thursday, November 17, 7:30 pm at Carmel Academy, 270 Lake Ave, Greenwich.

Ranked by Newsweek as the nation's 12th most prominent rabbi, he is the Senior Rabbi of the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale and author of Principles of Spiritual Activism and Women at Prayer: A Halakhic Analysis of Women's Prayer Groups. Rabbi Avi Weiss is also the National President of the AMCHA, the Coalition for Jewish Concerns, a grassroots organization that speaks out for Jewish causes throughout the world. Without question one of today's most exciting thinkers and doers, he ordained the first Orthodox female rabbi.

The event inaugurates JCC Greenwich's "Great Minds Series" featuring leading Jewish thinkers and doers. The series is supported by The Flashner Family. Following Rabbi Weiss's talk, signed copies of Principles of Spiritual Activism will be available for purchase.

Admission is free; RSVPs are strongly recommended, at JCCGreenwich.org or (203) 552-1818.
