| Dr. Henry Kissinger -- who recently returned from his 40th trip to China -- will discuss his new book On China, and share his expert perspective on the global impact of China’s emerging economy on Friday, November 4. His remarks will be the centerpiece of a luncheon benefitting Family Centers at 12 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency in Old Greenwich.
Dr. Kissinger is widely recognized as the foremost authority on Chinese culture and economic strategy. He served as Secretary of State from 1973-1977 under Presidents Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford. While in office, Kissinger played a dominant role in United States foreign policy, having pioneered détente with the Soviet Union and orchestrated the opening of diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China. In 1973, Kissinger was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for negotiating the Paris Peace Accords and ending the Vietnam War.
