03/25/10 Hearst Newspaper Editor David McCumber Is A Penny Stock Fraudster's Dream Come True

Did WGCH's Michael Metter get Teri Buhl fired? « For What It's Worth

by christopherfountain

Bill Clark writes that Ms. Buhl may have been fired from Greenwich Time for reporting on the stock scam WGCH owner Michael Metter is running. I don’t know – it seems to me that GT’s Dave McCucumber is a frightened rabbit, scared of his own shadow, and would a dump a reporter at the first sign that someone was “Angy” at McCucumber, but certainly Teri gave Metter something to be angry about. He’s running a penny stock fraud for something called SpongeTech and people running scams just hate when you point that out.. ...

Here Is What Chris Fountain's Readers
Are Saying About Teri Buhl's Reporting

Pollyann says...

William Randolph Hearst would have Teri up to his little place at San Simeon. She’s the type of reporter that sold print. I think we have a mess a brewing at Greenwich times.

Rupert fountain - filling in for Cos Cobber says....

i think its a good bet that the WGCH reporting is what pushed teri out. those pro spongeteck penny stock pumpers seemed like a crazy lot. plus the paper probably got cold feet reporting the dirt on another intown old world media outlet.

NEWS REPORT FROM TODAY:

March 25, 2010, 11:00 AM

A couple of months ago FORTUNE magazine outted Plainfield, a Connecticut hedge fund, for
gating investors, not allowing investors to pull their money out.

Refusing investor's requests to pull their money signalled trouble. Teri Buhl has now discovered that Plainfield didn't want any more information getting out. They asked one of their borrowers to sign an agreement saying that they would not comment about Plainfield to anyone.

After Buhl found out about this agreement, she asked Plainfield to comment. They wouldn't.

But one employee emailed Teri this:

“Homes is livid, you and Benner have put some chinks in his armor. Narcissists like him don’t especially like it when they are called out in public. Where there is smoke, there is fire.”

He's (or she's) talking about his boss, Max Holmes

UPDATE:

Hearst Newspaper Editor David McCumber

A cautionary tale from David McCucumber

Greenwich Time’s editor, shown below, is just a pathetic shadow of the man he once was. I was dismayed, after Googling the guy, to discover that he was once a kindred spirit and my own age.Spent a year ranching in Montana, went on the road, and was a truly adventurous guy. Now he’s just a hack, struggling to hang on until his pension comes through. How sad. Makes me think all the better about moving to Hong Kong. What do you say, Dave – want to try one last blast with me? It’s our last chance.

  1. What factual information do you have to call Spongetech a "scam"?

She got fired for not understanding what she was writting about and making false accusations about a growing company

Please grow up and do not blog about this company again

Your a waste of life and an ugly faced individual

  3. How Did You Know That I Was And Ugly Faced Individual?

I Hope This Is Not My Kids Slamming My Blog Posts Again.

If They Keep It Up. I Am Going To Take Away Their Computer Privileges.

First Of All I Did Not Call Spongetech A Scam, Chris Fountain Rightly Called Spongetech A Scam.

I Have Used Much Harsher Words To Describe The Spongetech Shares.

I Am Sorry If You Were Left Holding The Bag On The Sponge Tech Pump And Dump Operation.

Maybe You Can Ask Michael Metter If He Would Trade Some Of The Paper On Radio Station WGCH For Your Spongetech Pink Slips.

But I Must Warn You That The Joke Around Greenwich Is That WGCH Stand For World's Greatest Communications Hoax.

  4. If Spongetech is a scam, why are more and more companies getting their product? Why would Marvel sign a deal with them? Why would they be repackaging their Car Wash sponge? Why would their Pet sponges have a booth at a convention just last week?

Yes they have had some issues with filing financails, but there are facts being ignored that point to this not being a scam.
