By Lincoln Millstein In November 2005, just days before the Greenwich municipal elections, Rick Novakowski wrote the following letter (see below) to the editor of the Greenwich Time in praise of Democratic candidates Dick Bergstresser and Peter Berg in what appeared to be a strong endorsement of Berg.
Fast forward to four years later, Peter and Novakowski are on the opposite ends of a race. For the benefit of Greenwich residents who have little or no interest in local politics and who, sadly, make up the largest bloc of residents, here is a primer:
Rick Novakowski is a lifelong Greenwich resident whose politics appear right of Joe Wilson and certainly right of most Republicans in Greenwich. To the horror of the local Democrats, Novakowski decided to run for the soon-to-be vacated tax collector job in town ......
