_____________________________________________________ Author Event & Book Signing MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14, 7:00 PM MARTIN GROSS NATIONAL SUICIDE: HOW WASHINGTON IS DESTROYING THE AMERICAN DREAM FROM A TO Z
Just Books 28 Arcadia Road, Old Greenwich, CT Free and Open to the Public
Just Books welcomes New York Times bestselling author, journalist, and social scientist Martin L. Gross as he visits to sign copies of his recently released and very compelling book, National Suicide: How Washington is Destroying The American Dream From A to Z (Berkley Trade, $15; September 1, 2009). Martin Gross is the author of the bestselling book The Government Racket, which was an indictment of government waste. In National Suicide, Gross profiles the U.S. government as it is today, and correlates the direction the U.S. is heading in as away from the strong foundation laid down by America's founding fathers. The U.S. as we know it is heading toward extinction and Gross outlines the programs that have had huge financial impact on the U.S. and the national debt, the laws that have completely unintended consequences, and the scams perpetrated by legislators intent upon remaining in office no matter what the cost to the nation and its citizens -- for generations to come. No subject is taboo and Gross also confronts Medicare and Medicaid waste upward of $150 billion a year. National Suicide is like a fiery Town Hall Meeting, but also offers practical solutions on how America can govern better and smarter.

_____________________________________________________ Author Event & Book Signing SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 10:00 AM PETER SAVERINE & BOBBI EGGERS JENNY'S PENNIES
Just Books 28 Arcadia Road, Old Greenwich, CT Free and Open to the Public
Just Books is pleased to welcome local Greenwich residents Peter Saverine and Bobbi Eggers as they introduce their new children's book Jenny's Pennies ($17.95).
It is often said that everybody has a book in them to write and Peter Saverine is no exception. Jenny's Pennies was originally meant to chronicle some of the special times when he and his family would find lucky pennies just when they needed them the most. For years they would call these "Jenny's pennies"-a tribute to Peter's mother, Jenny, who passed away in 1998 and who always believed that an errant penny was meant to be picked up and that it would bring good luck. For no apparent reason, Jenny's pennies would be found on the first day of school, in a new college dorm, on the football field before a game, or on a sunny beach. Saverine wanted a whimsical, freestyle artistic expression for the book and knew of Bobbi Eggers' work through previous business ventures. Bobbi Eggers, who is also a Greenwich resident, is a talented artist whose creative editorial cartoons (with stand-up comedian Jane Condon) are often seen in local newspapers and magazines.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 11 AM - 1 PM WILLIAM F. BAKER, PH.D. LEADING WITH KINDNESS: HOW GOOD PEOPLE CONSISTENTLY GET SUPERIOR RESULTS
Just Books 28 Arcadia Road, Old Greenwich, CT Free and Open to the Public
Just Books is pleased to welcome Greenwich and New York City resident and author William F. Baker, Ph.D., as he visits Just Books to sign copies of his newest book Leading with Kindness: How Good People Consistently Get Superior Results (Amacom; $24.95). Bill Baker experienced leading with kindness firsthand during his 20 years at the helm of Educational Broadcasting Corp., parent company of WNET-TV (Channel Thirteen) and WLIW-TV (Channel 21). It inspired him to affirm and refine his notion of what honorable bosses can accomplish. With his friend Michael O'Malley, Ph.D., Baker did extensive research and interviewed dozens of leaders in diverse organizations. They share their insights into strong, effective leadership in Leading with Kindness: How Good People Consistently Get Superior Results. Today, many leaders have realized that when it comes to business, nice guys often finish first. Old-fashioned images of corporate callousness and greed have been replaced by a gentler, more human conception of great leadership. But how does one define "kindness" in the context of business? And what is the best way to "use" this deceptively complex notion as a guiding principle to lead an organization successfully into the future?
