05/06/09 PRESS RELEASE: Safe Cycling Ride

The seventh annual "Ride for Greenwich" bicycle ride, organized by the nonprofit Greenwich Safe Cycling, will be held May 10.

The ride includes two routes, a seven-mile family ride around scenic Old Greenwich and Greenwich Point, and a 11/2mile beginners' ride. Cyclists can start anytime between 8:30 a.m.
and 10:30 a.m. Both rides start and end at the Old Greenwich Civic Center, 90 Harding Road.

Cost is $10 per adult and $5 per child age 12 and under. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. The lower entry fee is intended to cover costs, according to organizers, and any proceeds in excess of expenses go to Greenwich Safe Cycling.

Ride-day registration will be available. Entry forms can be found at local bicycle shops, fitness centers, the YWCA and YMCA, libraries, Threads 'n treads, and sponsors.

For more information or to obtain an entry form, e-mail emmymargs@hotmail.com.
