Fees increase for parking permitsIf you’re a resident looking to get a parking permit for a commuter lot in town, you’ll be paying 5% more than last year.
Parking Services Director Allen Corry said last week that despite the increase, Greenwich’s prices are still considered low compared to neighboring towns.
With the increase, permits for Island Beach, Horseneck and Town Hall parking lots will cost $279 for the year, as will all other outdoor train station parking permits in town. Permitted parking in the West End lot in Old Greenwich, behind CVS, will cost $191. Indoor parking at Greenwich Plaza is going up to $488.

Greenwich organizations reach out at volunteer fairKing Low Heywood Thomas will host its third Annual Volunteer Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11, in the Upper School Gymnasium.
The fair gives Middle and Upper School students, as well as parents, faculty and staff a forum to discuss available service opportunities with local agencies. Participating agencies include: Literacy Volunteers Stamford/Greenwich, Adopt-a-Dog, Inc., Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Sexual Assault Crisis and Education Center, Kids in Crisis, Audubon Greenwich, The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, Yerwood Center, Person to Person, and Jewish Family Services.
