Gov. M. Jodi Rell today announced that state or municipal officials convicted of corruption would lose their pensions under a strict state ethics law that takes effect tomorrow




It’s fall and as November approaches so does the increased potential for residents to get the flu.


Influenza (commonly called “flu”) is a highly contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses. It can be mild or severe and infects millions of Americans every year. On average, more than 226,000 people are hospitalized annually and about 36,000 people die from complications of the flu.




The Chinese Language School of Connecticut is offering a Chinese Culture class beginning Thursday, Oct. 9, at its program offices at the Greenwich Family YMCA, 50 East Putnam Ave.


The school, which teaches Mandarin Chinese to students 18 months old and older, uses age-appropriate, interactive methods to introduce children to Chinese, and will be exploring various facets of Chinese culture using a hands-on, interactive approach.




Gov. M. Jodi Rell today Friday that the state’s ongoing commitment to reducing greenhouse gases will take a step forward Wednesday when a new global warming law goes into effect Oct. 1.




Greenwich and surrounding towns are continuing to fight the Federal Aviation Administration’s airspace redesign for this region, with legal briefs, a war chest of more than $1 million, top town and state officials’ might, and even people power from area communities in all-out protest.
