Grocery store gets fresh start
Employees and local officials prep for a ribbon cutting at the new A&P Fresh, which is holding its grand opening today. It replaces the Food Emporium, which closed about a month ago for the renovations.

The following are July 31’s released arrests:
BURGLARY
Police arrested three Greenwich teens — a 15-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boys — on July 23 and charged them with third degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third degree burglary, fourth degree larceny and conspiracy to commit fourth degree larceny. The boys had allegedly broken into a Glenville home on May 14 and stolen electronic equipment. The boys were referred to juvenile court.
ASSAULT
A 59-year-old Greenwich man was arrested July 28 and charged with disorderly conduct, threatening, third degree assault and second degree strangulation. Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute. The man and his wife allegedly had a fight over finances and he began hitting and kicking her. Police said he threatened to kill his wife with a kitchen knife and placed his hand around her neck. The man was being held in lieu of a $50,000 and was due in court July 29.
ASSAULT
A 52-year-old Weston man was arrested July 28 and charged with strangulation, second degree unlawful restraint, third degree assault and disorderly conduct. Police responded to a report at a business that a co-owner’s abusive ex-boyfriend came to the store, grabbed his ex-girlfriend around her throat and choked her, pushing her against the wall and breaking her cell phone. Police said that the man forced the woman into a back storeroom and she was only able to escape by saying she heard customers in the store. The man was released on a $250,000 bond and was due in court July 29.
DISORDERLY
A 25-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, both from Greenwich, were arrested July 29 and charged with disorderly conduct. Police had been sent to the scene of a physical dispute between girlfriend and boyfriend. Police said the woman reported thatshe and her boyfriend had an argument over a lost key and her boyfriend put her in a headlock. The man said the woman punched him in the mouth. The man was also charged with third degree strangulation. The woman was released on a promise to appear and the man was released on a $500 cash bond. They were both due in court July 30.
