A 14-year-old girl from Greenwich punched, slapped, scratched, spit and kicked two female detectives from Greenwich who came to Stamford's East Side to take her into custody Wednesday morning, police said. Sgt. Sean McGowan said police responded with lights and sirens to Custer Street just after 10 a.m. after a fight between a girl and two police officers was reported.

14-Year-Old Girl Charged With Assaulting Detectives In Stamford

A 14-year-old girl turned into a terror for a pair of Greenwich detectives, who were scratched and spit at by the out-of-control teen when they went to pick her up on a Stamford juvenile court warrant Wednesday morning, Stamford police said. The two female detectives learned the girl was at a residence on Custer Street in Stamford and went there on a "take into custody order" shortly before 10 a.m. However, the teen had different ideas and began acting aggressively, spitting, flailing her arms and striking the detectives, police said.

Arguing with Greenwich Police Leads to Driver's Arrest

A motorist is facing misdemeanor charges after allegedly arguing with a Greenwich Police officer who was directing traffic through a construction zone Wednesday morning. According to a police report, the officer was directing traffic in the 300 block of Palmer Hill Road near North Mianus School when a driver becomes "verbally aggressive and confrontational" with the officer.

President Barack Obama will make a return visit to Fairfield County next week to stump for Gov. Dannel Malloy in his tough rematch race against GOP challenger Tom Foley, Hearst Connecticut Media said in an exclusive report. Fall Family Festival, Scarecrow Competition Comes To Greenwich

The Greenwich Historical Society presents its traditional Fall Festival, sponsored by The First Bank of Greenwich, on Sunday, Oct. 12, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Bush-Holley Historic Site, at 39 Strickland Road. The fall festival will feature a scarecrow-making competition, a hayride tour through the Strickland Road Historic District compliments of Sam Bridge Nursery, and in keeping with the World War I theme of the Historical Society's fall exhibition "Greenwich Faces the Great War," the event will include family-friendly tours of Bush-Holley House, interpreted as it would have been during the World War I years.
