Charles Mathews sits in the doorway of the Mathews Feed and Flour Mill, which served families in northwest Stamford, northeast Greenwich and Bedford, N.Y., from the 1850s to the early 1900s. The story of that complex of mills, known as Newman Mills, is one of several told at a new exhibition at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center in Stamford, Conn., through Nov. 4, 2014.
