Greenwich man charged in gold coin theft

A Greenwich man hired for $15 per hour to help with a basement cleanup in October was arrested for stealing gold and silver coins from the homeowner. Michael Verdon , 23, of Armstrong Court, was arraigned Tuesday at the Stamford courthouse on a charge of second-degree larceny and held in lieu of a $5,000 court appearance bond.
