When President Barack Obama swoops into Connecticut on Tuesday in the thick of one of the most competitive gubernatorial races in the nation, Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy won't even be in the same ZIP code. Malloy plans to skip the Greenwich fundraising reception headlined by Obama, who will be helping U.S. Senate Democrats to fill their war chest to protect their slim majority in the midterm elections.
