Center for Hope Offers Bereavement Group for Grieving Parents

Darien, Conn. (September 10, 2010) – Losing a child is one of the most painful situations a parent can experience. To help parents cope with their grief, the Center for HOPE has started a new support group.

Led by Center for HOPE clinician Carole Greenberg, RN, MS, LMFT, the group

helps parents overcome feelings of isolation and provides a safe and supportive environment. It also allows parents to talk abut the things that they cannot discuss with others – from their anger, sadness and guilt to how to handle special occasions.

The group will meet every Monday at 5:45p.m. for ten weeks, beginning September 20th. Sessions will be held at the Center for Hope located at 590 Post Road in Darien and is a program of Family Centers. An initial consultation is required before joining the group.

For more information or to set up an initial consultation, call the Center for Hope at 203-655-4693.

For more than 25 years, the Center for HOPE provides comprehensive services for adults and children living with an illness or grieving a loss. All counseling, support and education services are facilitated by specially-trained professionals in an atmosphere of hope and renewal. The Center for HOPE is a division Family Centers – a private, nonprofit organization offering education and human services to children, adults and families in Fairfield County. The agency is also licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health. For more information, visit www.centerforhope.org.
