03/14/10 Storm Aftermath - Emergency Declaration

This is First Selectman Peter Tesei and this call is to advise you that due to the aftermath of the extreme weather conditions we have declared a local emergency.

Emergency service personnel are working with Connecticut Light and Power, Town and private tree crews to remove downed wires, poles and trees and assess the significant property damage.

We ask that you remain in your home during the morning hours so the crews can safely work to restore power, cleanup debris and take steps to repair the damage.

Your cooperation will ensure your safety and the safety of your fellow residents in the aftermath of this major storm. Thank you.
