08/24/09 A news tip for Greenwich Roundup

Hey, I don't know if you've seen this yet, but a friend of mine who's a 24-year-old grad student at Columbia University created a kind of localized New York City version of Digg. Rather than having editors, all the users of the site are New Yorkers that submit NYC-related links and vote up and down on them to get them to the front page:

http://nyc.is/

Anyway, I thought this was neat and interesting because this is just a grad school student who's working on all this stuff from scratch. And I think it's a cool approach to more localized news. Since you live and blog in New York I thought you and your readers would find it interesting.

Take care,
Simon
