Police Watch: The following reports were released April 15

DUI

Jose Hernandez-Morillo, 30, of Stamford was arrested April 14 and charged with driving under the influence. An officer on patrol reportedly saw Hernandez-Morillo speeding on West Putnam Avenue, swerving between lanes and nearly striking the curb line. Police pulled over the car at the intersection of East Putnam Avenue and Old Church Road. Police said Hernandez-Morillo continuously slurred his speech and had red, glassy eyes. Police said he told an officer he was drinking beer and failed field sobriety exams. Hernandez-Morillo was also charged with failure to drive in an established lane. He was released on a $250 cash bond and is due in court April 28.

APPEAR

Matthew Daniele, 27, of 300 Stanwich Road was arrested April 14 and charged with first degree failure to appear. He reportedly turned himself in to police custody after being informed there was a warrant for his arrest. Daniele had allegedly failed to appear in court for possession of a controlled substance and speeding, which he had been arrested for on Oct. 16, 2005. Daniele was released on a $1,000 surety bond and is due in court April 21.
