04/14/08 - The Greenwich Police Blotter

Police Watch: The following reports were released April 14

ASSAULT

A 16-year-old Greenwich boy was arrested April 11 and charged with second degree assault, threatening and breach of peace. The boy had been in custody in Westchester County, N.Y., when he was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant stemming from an incident where the boy got into an argument that turned physical. He allegedly threatened another child with a knife and caused the person to fall and suffer a head injury. The boy was being held in lieu of a $25,000 cash bond and is due in court April 23.

BURGLARY

A 17-year-old Mount Vernon, N.Y., boy was arrested April 11 and charged with 27 counts of third degree burglary and one count apiece of third degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third degree burglary. The warrant stems from a vehicle break-in on Linden Place and other break-ins in the town on Jan. 13. He was turned over to the state marshal’s office for further action.

John F. Kennedy: We are not afraid to entrust the American people with unpleasant facts, foreign ideas, alien philosophies, and competitive values. For a nation that is afraid to let its people judge the truth and falsehood in an open market is a nation that is afraid of its people.
