When In Greenwich, This is How to Deal With A Storm

As winter's first major snow storm - actually a blizzard - barrels towards Greenwich, here are some reminders of what residents need to do regarding snow removal and on- and off-street parking. Plow Routes: The Town of Greenwich maintains 265.3 miles of public accepted roadways, 33 municipal and commuter parking lots and 14 Board of Education School facilities.

Red Cross Offers Blizzard Preparation Safety Tips

The National Weather Service is predicting a blizzard for the Greenwich area that's expected to pummel our area Monday through Tuesday night. The American Red Cross recommends being prepared ahead to time in order to stay safe in a blizzard.

Greenwich Schools Announce Class Dismissal Plans

As a blizzard bears down on Greenwich, Greenwich public and private school officials announced Sunday night that classes will be dismissed early on Monday. "Based on consultation with Town Officials, the Emergency Management Operations Center , and the Greenwich Police Department, Dr. McKersie will announce the opening status of schools for Tuesday, January 27th on Monday evening," the district announced late Sunday.

'Crippling and Potentially Historic Blizzard' Takes Aim at Greenwich

The National Weather Service has scrapped its blizzard watch and has now issued a blizzard warning that will go into effect for Greenwich from 1 p.m. Monday to midnight Tuesday night. The NWS is calling the approaching storm a "crippling and potentially historic blizzard," and is advising against traveling from Monday afternoon through Tuesday.

Major Nor'easter Heads Toward Greenwich, Blizzard Watch Issued
