Greenwich Board of Ed Receives State Leadership Award

The Greenwich Board of Education was presented with the Connecticut Association of Boards of Education Level One Leadership Award during the annual CABE / CAPSS Convention held at the Mystic Marriott on Friday, November 14 - Saturday, November 15, 2014. Accepting the award from the Commissioner of Education, Stephan Pryor were Greenwich Board of Education Chair Barbara O'Neill, BOE Vice-Chair Jennifer Dayton and BOE members Laura Erickson, Debbie Appelbaum and Peter Bernstein, and Superintendent of Schools William S. McKersie.

Arsenic found in ground near Byram Park pool

Most Greenwich Schools Earn High Marks In Advocacy Group Report

Most Greenwich schools performed above the state average, and no schools were graded as substandard, according to a report by education advocacy group Connecticut Coalition for Achievement Now. Byram Park Playground, Pool Area Closed After Soil Tests Show Presence of Arsenic

The playground area of Byram Park has been closed to visitors after soil tests conducted in preparation for the proposed pool project turned up high levels of arsenic, town officials announced Thursday. During an update on the proposed project through the auspices of a partnership between the Town of Greenwich and the Junior League of Greenwich, town Superintendent of Buildings, Maintenance and Construction Alan Monelli unveiled the findings of soil tests to the Greenwich Board of Selectmen.

Dwight R. Sullivan, 67, Of Greenwich

Sullivan was born March 29, 1947, in Bronxville, to Cornelius K. Sullivan and Hope North Sullivan. He grew up in Old Greenwich, attended Greenwich High School, graduated from Wilbraham Academy, earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Colgate University in 1970, and received an M.B.A. from Columbia University in 1974.
