Stamford Man Faces Child Pornography Charges

A 34-year-old Stamford man is facing child pornography charges following a Stamford Police investigation into the importation of child pornography at a Greenwich Avenue residence. According to a police statement, the department's Digital Forensics Unit and the State's Attorney's Office in Stamford began the joint investigation in August "when the Digital Forensics Unit received information that child pornography was being imported to and investigators determined that there were numerous images of child pornography being downloaded through the modem" at the residence.

Larceny, Trespass Charges Filed Against Man Accused of Stealing Construction Tools

A man is facing third-degree larceny and third-degree criminal trespass charges in connection with the theft of $5,000 worth of construction tools earlier this year. According to a Greenwich Police report, the tools were stolen from a work van at a construction site on Andrews Road on April 30. Police were notified of the theft when Benjamin Gottlieb, 23, of 6 Bishop Park Rd., Pound Ridge, NY, was stopped by Stamford Police on May 1. He was arrested for possession of heroin by Stamford Police who searched his vehicle and "found a large assortment of construction tools," according to the report.

The Greenwich United Way's sixth annual "Oktoberfest" took place last month at Stamford's Loading Dock where supporters enjoyed an evening of Bavarian festivities organized by co-chairs Melissa Levin and Erin McCall. The night included Abigail Kirsch's gourmet German buffet dinner, regional beers and wines, music, dancing, a silent auction, games for the not particularly skilled, such as "Heads or Tails," and more.
