09/28/10 CRITICAL DEADLINE, Thursday at Midnight, Will you help me?

reelect

Dear Friends,

Something interesting is happening out there. People across the political spectrum are starting to see this election for what it is: a stark choice between moving forward or going backward.

That is true in my race. My opponent is spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on television commercials and mailings distorting the hard work I have done in the last 21 months to try to get this country back on its feet. And as you know, while we've seen some progress we have much more to do.

Interestingly, two hours ago, my opponent sent out an email blast asking for money and featuring the word "return." That got me thinking. Does he mean a return to the prosperity of the Clinton era? I don't think so. Just look at the supposed ideas his party is promoting and his radical right wing voting record in Hartford.

Make no mistake. He's talking about a return to the thoughtless failed ideas of wanton deregulation of the Bush administration. "Ideas" that ushered in the most severe economic decline since the Great Depression.

Everyone knows that we cannot let that happen again.

My opponent is a career politician who has cast over 2000 votes in public office. Votes that include: A vote against providing emergency contraception for rape victims. A vote against requiring insurance companies to cover hearing aids for children. AND, a vote against requiring insurance companies to cover bone marrow testing.

His record is radical, irresponsible, and wrong for Southwest Connecticut.

At midnight on Thursday, our campaign faces a critical filing deadline with the Federal Election Commission.

This deadline is an opportunity to say NO together to the radical and irresponsible agenda my opponent would push through if elected.

We are $15,768 away from our $50,000 online goal I set earlier this month. Thursday at midnight is the deadline. I know that together we can do this.

Will you help us reach that goal by contributing $500, $250, $100, $20, or $5 today? The legal maximum is $2400.

09/28/10 Linda McMahon for Senate 2010 Statement on the Quinnipiac University Poll That Says She Is Still Behind Richard Blumenthal

Linda McMahon for Senate 2010 Statement on the Quinnipiac University Poll

West Hartford, Conn., September 28, 2010 Linda McMahon for Senate 2010 spokesman Ed Patru released the following statement in reaction to today's Quinnipiac University poll:

"With only five weeks remaining until Election Day, the seemingly insurmountable 41-point lead Dick Blumenthal held in January has slipped to a statistically insignificant margin because, even as voter anxiety about the economy continues to intensify, Mr. Blumenthal is calling for a national energy tax that hits middle class families and small business tax hikes that will further slow Connecticut's economy and cost jobs.

"This election offers a choice between the right kind of experience and the kind of experience that has gotten us where we are today. While Linda is promising to put her 30 years of real world job creation experience to work for Connecticut, Dick Blumenthal is fighting for tax increases that will take at least $13 billion out of Connecticut's economy and send it to Washington, and a national energy tax that will raise electricity prices by an average of $925 per household and add 68 cents to the price of gallon of gas.

"After nearly four decades in government, Dick Blumenthal just doesn't understand the impact his job-killing policies will have on Connecticut. It's becoming clearer by the day that Connecticut voters recognize we cannot change the trajectory of Washington's misguided policies by electing another tax-and-spend career politician."
