I am in receipt of an email from Ms. Jones but it’s very poorly written (hey, she’s a tennis coach, not an English teacher) and I’m not going to post it here. It does seem clear that she never shoved or even touched the cop, and those charges are going to be dropped. But it’s also obvious that she’s been chaperoning a little band of thugs. If that’s what comprises the Greenwich High School tennis team, I’d think the school should fire the kids and start over, with Connie Jones as coach.

Is it mean to mention that the bagel tosser was Bernie Madoff’s grandson?

On May 13, 2010 at 6:42 pm
Ex-Greenwich Time Investigative Reporter Teri Buhl commented....

So Connie Jones is out there on the record saying she never pushed the cop and the charges are going to be dropped. But if you read the Greenwich Time story you wouldn’t know that. In fact it’s driven a few resident to comment that they think her pushing the cop was bad behavior for a tennis couch. It’s sloppy journalism for them not to update their story and verify that Jones never pushed the cop.

It looks like that comment made Greenwich Time cub reporter Colin Gustafson update his article today.

Just how much money is the Hearst Newspapers wasting on David McCumber?

Even though the Greenwich Time has been on Face book about a year longer than Greenwich Roundup.

And Even though the Greenwich Time uss the Greenwich Time web site to beg it's few visitors to join it's Facebook page.

The Greenwich Time only has 663 Facebook friends and Greenwich Roundup has 2,107 Facebook friends and is growing daily.

Greenwich Roundup
Greenwich Roundup
Hearst Newspapers wont report the money losing Greenwich Time's web stats seperately.

But they did report that in March the total unique visitors across the newspapers' four websites was 3.3 million.

So we can estimate the Greenwich Timews approxamate web stats by taking the population figures for the towns and cities and getting a rough percentage number for Greenwich.

Bridgeport has 139,529

Danbury has 74,848 people

Greenwich has 61,101

Stamford has 119,303

That gives a total of 394,781

That gives Greenwich about 15% of the number.

maybe that translates into about 495,000 of those website visits.

Now if you divide this number by the 31 days in March you will get a daily number of 15,697.

If you look at the week day print circulation figures for the four Hearst Newspapers you get a much different number.

CT Post - 85,168

Dabbury News Times - 32,906

Greenwich Time - 8,900

Stamford Advocate - 25,626

That gives us a total daily print circulation of 152,600.

That gives the Greenwich Time about 5% of the print circulation number.

5% of the CT hearst we traffic would equal 165,000 monthly visitors.

Now if you divide this number by the 31 days in March you will get a daily number of 5332 daily visitors.

Greenwich Roundup still thinks this daily web number is too high and that's why Greenwich Time Editor wont put the Greenwich time's web stats on a rate card.

Yesterday Greenwich Roundup had 3,259 unique website visitors.

Toay Google gave the Greenwich time a page rank of 6/10 and greenwich Roundup recieved a page rank of 4/10.

Hearst Newspaper Editor and the Greenwich Time are going to go down and go down hard as Greenwich Roundup grows stronger every single day.

Hearst is starting to do the same thing in Texas as it did here in CT

Don't Mess With It: Hearst's Daily Texas Newspapers Form Hearst Texas Media Group

Six Heart-owned Taxas papers have banded together to form the descriptively-named Hearst Texas Media Group. Participating papers include the Houston Chronicle, the San Antonio Express-News, the Beaumont Enterprise, the Laredo Morning Times, the Midland Reporter-Telegram and the Plainview Daily Herald.

The Houston Chronicle's publisher and president, Jack Sweeney, will serve as the group's president, and Tom Stephenson, publisher and president of the San Antonio Express-News, will act as its general manager.

Bill Offill, who joined the Houston Chronicle in 1987, will take on the role of publisher of the Beaumont Enterprise. He succeeds John Newhouse, who is leaving the company.

Matthew Oliver will be in charge of the group's production and distribution and Scott Frantzen will become a vice president, working with Oliver on distribution.

Houston Chronicle editor Jeff Cohen will be in charge of collaborative efforts among the newspapers' staffs.

Executive vice president of the Houston Chronicle Stephen Weiss will take on the duties of overseeing advertising and digital services for the group.

Executive vice president of finance and administration Susan Pape will head finance and administration for the group.

Chris Blaser, formerly vice president of circulation at the San Francisco Chronicle, has promoted to senior vice president there. He will also run consumer marketing for the Texas newspapers. Working with Blaser will be Gene Haddock, who oversees circulation for the Houston Chronicle.

In a letter to staffers, Sweeney and Stephenson said the change was meant to "consolidate" the papers... which means that, inevitably, some positions will be eliminated in a cost-cutting measure.

Benjamin,

You are 100% right.

Among the U.S.'s largest papers, the sharpest drop was at the San Francisco Chronicle, owned by Hearst Corp., where circulation fell nearly 23%.

So I guess overall, David McCumber is like the second worst Hearst Newspaper Editor in America.

Greenwich Roundup Pave Baby Pave !!!!!

Greenwich First Selectman Peter Tesei gets his ass in gear after the Obama administration asked, "Why aren't you using all that money we sent to Greenwich?"

Sunday night, work began on Brookside Drive, the first of seven streets and roadways in town that will be repaved during the next three weeks.Th
e project is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, a $787-billion stimulus package composed of spending on infrastructure projects, tax cuts and social welfare spending.

It was pushed by Obama as a way to breathe life back into an economy last year mired in the worst recession since the Great Depression in the 1930s.

The Tesei Administration screws up....

About $400,000 of the town's original allotment of $1.3 million stimulus funds remains unused and Greenwich David Thompson, public works deputy commissioner "doesn't know if the town will use that for a specific project in Greenwich, or whether it will be lumped in with other unused money from other southwest Fairfield County communities" for a regional project that Greenwich would benefit from.

Even worse ....

"Thompson was unsure of a deadline to use the stimulus funds."

Better late than never ....

The rushed paving job is being done from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday night through Friday morning.

Work is also being done on Dearfield Drive, West Elm Street, Field Point Road, Prospect Street, Railroad Avenue and Horseneck Lane.

Greenwich Roundup Let's hope that Greenwich's emergency management director wont be passed out at the Polish Club in Glenville when the "BIG ONE" hits.

"This has been a dress rehearsal for a much more significant event, We do believe we're in a for a major hurricane," Daniel Warzoha told members of the Round Hill Association.

"I estimate
that we're going to be cleaning up through mid-summer," Warzoha said.

Hearst Newspaper Editor David McCumber never reports on Ex-Greenwich Fire Chief Daniel Warzoha's history when reporting on his performance as Greenwich's emergency management director.

The Greenwich Time repeatedly ignores the fact that ....

Kennard Ray Little, who fractured his pelvis, three ribs and his wrist when he jumped from a fourth-story window to escape the fire, claims in a law suit that Warzoha made several critical errors while in command of the fire scene on Davis Avenue.

The Little's suit, filed one year after the Dec. 5, 2003, fire, also renews accusations that Warzoha was impaired when he assumed command.

The Greenwich Firefighters Association Local 1042, the firefighters' union, charged in 2002 that Warzoha drank at the Polish Club of Glenville before going to the fire.

Five firefighters were injured in the fire at 312 Davis Ave.

Little, Deputy Chief Mike Puterbaugh and firefigher Erik Maziarz were seriously injured when they jumped from the building's fourth-floor attic to escape the flames.

The day after the fire, several firefighters were recorded on the town's emergency radio system, complaining that the scene was disorganized and questioning why ladders were not placed in the fourth-story windows, which would have given the firefighters a safer means to escape the burning building.

Almost immediately after the fire, state and town officials began questioning the fire department's response, and both the town and the firefighters' union launched investigations.

On Jan. 22, 2002 a division of the state Department of Labor fined the Greenwich Fire Department $560 for failing to track the whereabouts of firefighters during the fire.

In February, 2002 a town investigation confirmed that Warzoha had been drinking,

In another report, an independent fire review panel recommended the town adopt a no-tolerance drug and alcohol policy with regard to firefighters and supervisors responding to incidents.

"Because the department does not have a zero tolerance policy, there is a shadow of a doubt over the incident in this area," the panel wrote.

But according to Little's suit, Warzoha "violated Greenwich Fire Department rules, the Town Charter, state and federal regulations and standard firefighting practices by reporting to the scene of a fire after imbibing alcohol." The suit claims that Warzoha was "mentally and physically impaired by his consumption of alcoholic beverages" and catalogues a chaotic fire scene.

According to Little's complaint, Warzoha:

* Ordered Little and two other firefighters to re-enter the burning building and search for two missing children, even after he was told by a dispatcher that the children were safe and not inside the building.

* Did not have the building ventilated according to standard firefighting procedure. As a result, "the fire became uncontrollable and unreasonably hazardous."

* Failed to set up a rescue team, even as the fire burned out of control with three firefighters trapped inside the building.

* Failed to provide ground ladders or other escape routes for the trapped firefighters, in violation of standard firefighting practice, and took no action even after he was specifically advised that no ladders or escape routes were in place.

The lawsuit's allegations are consistent with the Report of the Independent Fire Review Panel.

This is why First Selectman Peter Tesei And Daniel Warzoha responce to the March Noreaster was a complte disaster.

When Are We Going To Put An End To The Fraud Waste And Abuse In Town Government

Bonita Jones says that Greenwich High School did not pick her for a job in the Family and Consumer Sciences Department because of her age, then 57, in August 2005.

The school instead hired Colleen Moeller, a 20-year-old "
teacher's aide" and "assistant junior varsity cheerleading coach", who did not have valid teaching certification in Connecticut when she was hired.

Ms. Jones, who was certified to teach, had more than 20 years of experience, including 14 in the district, when she was passed over.

Colleen Moeller, now Colleen Foster had no valid teacher certification when she applied.

http://www.greenwichtime.com/local/article/Teacher-files-1M-federal-age-bias-suit-485036.php

Jones and Moeller were the only two candidates applying.

The CT state's Commission on Human Rights noted that Jones had actually scored higher than Moeller during the interview process. It also revealed that school officials had hand-written notes on a candidate scorecard noting that Moeller was "young."

Once Again, the Greenwich Time is ignoring voices of color in Greenwich.

Hearst Newspaper editor David McCumber needs to grow a pair of onions and start reporting the truth about what happens to town hall.

Basically, you have a white editor refusing to send a white reporter to cover racism caherges against white administrators and white elected officials.

Basically, the Greenwich Time is trying to "white-out" racism in town, by refusing to cover it.

The Greenwich Time always ignores the weakest members of Greenwich society.

These problems keep appearing in lawsuits and discrimination complaints filed against town employees.

Discrimination and racism is a problem in town government, you don't here stories like this in Darien and Westport.

We have had huge swastika painted on town employ's desks.

We have had Greenwich police officers calling Greenwich designer Barclay Fryery a faggot.

There have been a huge load of racial and discrimination complaints in the Greenwich police department.

In Late May Of 2006 The Very Unhappy School Resource Officer Carlos Franco Filed A Federal Civil Rights Lawsuit Against The Greenwich Police Department

The lawsuit consisted of 40 page of allegations going back nearly two decades.

The Federal civil rights lawsuit's chief complaint is that the Greenwich Police Department has "systematically and continuously discriminated" against members of racial and ethnic minorities in its hiring and promotional practices in ways that hurt him and others professionally and created a hostile work environment.
