12/09/09 Reader Submitted Comments: Joe Lieberman

Thank goodness he has an independent mind and is not swayed by the democratic leaders. I don't want the government (helping or running) any more than they are now, the more the government runs the less efficient things become. Our brilliant elected leaders got us into this mess and the faster we get experienced, independent business people elected the better off the country will be. Every senator and congressman should have the same healthcare programs that we do and they also should be made to do their own taxes, I wonder what would happen then?

12/09/09 READER SUBMITTED COMMENTS: Error on your website

Hi,

My name is Tina and I'm one of the board members for the Triangle Community Center in Norwalk (www.ctgay.org).

Today I ran across a listing on your site that says:

Center for Spiritual Renewal, at Triangle Community Center, River St., Norwalk, a gay and lesbian ministry -- J. Lee Kraft. Interfaith spiritual services from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on the first and third Thursday of the month. Open to all who are respectful of the gay and lesbian community. Call 729-4231.

Located here: http://greenwichroundup.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

We are an LGBT community center and I think that entry may be misleading people into thinking that we are a "ministry". We are not a religious organization. It appears that this entry is referencing the Spiritual Reading Group that uses our space on the first and third Tuesday of each month. We have no other religious programming that runs with that frequency.

While we are happy to have our name out there, we also don't want to mislead the public into thinking we are a religious organization. We are non-profit organization.

Please remove this entry.

We appreciate your assistance!
Tina

12/09/09 Holiday and Half-Marathon to help children

Hi Greenwich Roundup,

I hope you're doing well this holiday season. The Fresh Air Fund is looking for runners and sponsors to join our Fresh Air Fund-Racers team for the NYC Half-Marathon this coming March 21st and I was hoping you might be able to post something about it on Greenwich Roundup: This Just In ...... to share with your readers. This is a great way to participate in NYC's premier summer road race while helping Fresh Air Fund children.

Over the last year, support from friends like you helped us give nearly 10,000 inner-city children country experiences that they're still talking about! We rely on donations this time of year to keep our programs strong for the summer months, and helping children is a cause that I'm sure your readers would be interested in. Please feel free to repost anything from our news site here:

http://freshairholiday.org

Please let me know if you are able to post or tweet and if you could send me the link that would be wonderful. Together we can help make sure these children have everything they need!

Thank you so much and have a happy holiday,

Sara
