TO PERFORM IN THE WEDNESDAY NIGHT CONCERT SERIES
The Department of Parks and Recreation announces Billy and the Showman will be performing in the Dept. of Parks and Recreation Wednesday Night Concert Series. The Greenwich Police Silver Shield will sponsor this concert. It will take place at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park on Wednesday, July 15, 2009.
Established over thirty years ago, Billy and the Showmen have earned a reputation as one of Connecticut's best and most enduring Rhythm & Blues bands. Its members have played with such artists as Billy Vera, the Chiffons, Bo Diddley, and Jackie Wilson in venues as diverse as Madison Square Garden, the Village Vanguard, the Village Gate, and the Bottom Line.
Billy & the Showmen specialize in hard-driving R&B, Soul, and Funk from the '60's and 70's. The band's repertoire includes the best of Blood, Sweat, & Tears, Tower of Power, Cool & the Gang, and classic Motown artists such as the Temptations.
Now is your chance to listen to Billy and the Showmen right in your own backyard in Greenwich. Bring a picnic dinner, a blanket and come join us for some wonderful music under the stars. If it rains the concert will be held on Thursday July 16, 2009.
Roger Sherman Baldwin Park is located on Arch Street by the Teen Center, and Island Beach Ferry Dock.

Lincoln Millstein Is Once Again Right About The Greenwich BOE
He Is On Top Of The Greenwich School's Like White On Rice
Time to change the way Greenwich school board is selected... ....Ditto for John Raben Jr., another nice guy as far as I can tell from his profile on the Republican Town Committee web site. His J.P. Morgan resume may cause some to pause.... ....Stepford Wives? Welcome to the Stepford School Board.
.... Let’s just have the first selectman appoint the superintendent and do away with the school board.
