03/29/09 Hey, Hey !!!, Ho, Ho !!! John Bowman Says Byram Neighborhood Association President Michael Bocchino Has To Go

Greenwich Time Rookie Reporter Meredith Blake Article Wont Tell You All The Facts About The $350,000 Byram Pocket Park

Conflict Of Interest? : The Board of Estimate and Taxation Appropriated $350,000 For The Proposed Pocket Park.

A house directly across the street from the proposed park is owned by Stephen Walko, chairman of the Board of Estimate and Taxation.

The Protesters Say:

Byram Neighborhood Association President Michael Bocchino has refused to put the pocket park on the agenda, because he is afraid it will be voted down.

The Expensive Pocket Park would lead to the elimination of parking spaces that Byram businesses and neighborhood residents heavily rely on.

The people who support this don't live here and don't work here.

The Proposed Park creates a public safety issue: Greenwich Police Chief David Ridberg Has Been Unable To Suppress Crime On South Water. The pocket park will likely make the job of Greenwich police officers harder, because it will attract drug sellers and will probably covered with gang graffiti tags overnight.

The Town Of Greenwich already has budgeted $350,000 for the proposed park: Byram residents and merchants would rather the money go for community policing that would make the village save Again.

03/29/09 PRESS RELEASE: ROCKIN' WATER on NBC Nightly News-Monday, March 30, 6:30 pm

Amy Guerrieri and ROCKIN' WATER™ to be featured on
NBC NIGHTLY NEWS WITH BRIAN WILLIAMS
6:30 p.m., Monday, March 3

Old Greenwich's own Amy Guerrieri, owner of ROCKIN' WATER, rocked the Appalachian area of Kentucky this past week with 11 pallets (a semi-tractor trailer truck full) of donated items such as water, school supplies, clothing, diapers, formula, toys, books, and personal care products, collected through the generosity of schools, families and businesses from the community and beyond.

NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams followed this effort from Connecticut to Kentucky and will feature the story on Monday, March 30, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. (ET). The segment will most likely be on the second-half of the show, after 6:45 p.m., barring any breaking news. The show airs on Channel 4 in the New York City metropolitan area. If the segment doesn't air on Monday, it will air Tuesday.

Amy, along with Katrina Bischoff, Allison Cohen and Jenifer Howard, traveled to Martin County, Kentucky, one of the most poverty-stricken areas of the United States. Partnering with CAP - the Christian Appalachian Project, the group was able to hit the ground running - driving more than 875 miles in 2-1/2 days, visiting 12 locations that served children and families, including schools, daycare facilities, after school programs, churches, food pantries, health clinics and the only dentist serving the county for many years. In addition, the group met with and supported two families - both headed by single parent Moms who had four children each, bringing them much needed items used for day-to-day living and survival.

A special THANK YOU to everyone who participated
in this amazing outpouring of support!
