03/17/09 Prince Has Been Arrested

No, Not That Prince.....

Sam Kennedy — who is "also known as 'Prince,'" an official indictment states — is a 33-year-old Liberian citizen who was indicted for bank fraud, conspiracy and identity theft by a Bridgeport grand jury.

Kennedy, a.k.a. "Prince," is charged with obtaining ID information from at least four people and making phony forms of identification for those folks. He then used those fake IDs to open accounts at Citibank branches in Fairfield, Norwalk and Greenwich.

"Prince" wrote counterfeit checks to deposit in the accounts and planned to draw out cash (to blow on diamonds and pearls, we guess) and then leave town (going much 2 fast). The people whose identities he stole would get the wrap for the bad checks. (How could he just leave them standing — alone in a world so cold?)

"At all times relative to this Indictment, the defendant, Sam Kennedy, also known as 'Prince' was a resident of New York," reads the indictment.

We asked Tom Carson, spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney for Connecticut, why the alias Kennedy shares with his royal badness is referenced in the indictment. "It's not uncommon for a defendant's 'aka' to appear in a charging document," Carson says. "It may be a street name, or the name that a defendant is more commonly known as. However, I don't know to what extent he used or was called the name."

We do know that someone who wears ass-less pants probably has the same amount of common sense as someone who thinks there is any money to left to steal from Citibank.

......If you want to hear some insightful thoughts from Tudor Jones himself, head over to our post on Hedge Fund manager interviews or our post on quotes from PTJ. We should note that in the past, Tudor's equity portion of their portfolio has been run by James Pallotta in Tudor's Raptor fund. But, Pallotta recently left Tudor to start his own hedge fund. So, we've started to cover Pallotta's new Raptor Capital Management, and we will also continue to track Tudor. Pallotta was essentially responsible for the great track record at Tudor, so that's why we continue to track his 'spun-off/new' venture. We'll track Tudor simply because they have some of the greatest minds in the macro game. And, that's why we track macro funds in the first place: to monitor their sector exposure to pick up any possible macro themes they might be playing.

In terms of recent activity, Tudor has been pretty busy. They earlier filed numerous 13G's with the SEC, amending a bunch of their holdings. Additionally, we just learned that they will be starting a new Momentum Fund. They still of course have their main flagship BVI Global fund that finished 2008 -4.5% as noted in our 2008 hedge fund performance numbers....

03/17/08 Greenwich Time Editors Forced To Shut Down Another Message Board As Secret Greenwich Bigot Appears At Topix

After Reading Comments At The Latest Greenwich Time Article It Is Clear That Some Disgusting Greenwich Residents Are Still Living In Our Counties Hateful Past.

Courthouse chaos during arraignment - Greenwich Time

A courthouse melee broke out Monday during an arraignment for one of the five people arrested during a weekend gathering that turned violent at the Wilbur Peck public housing complex, officials said.......

If You Go To The "POST YOUR COMMENTS" Link At The End Of This Story You Will Find That This Is The Third Message Board That Hearst Newspapers Has Had To Shut Down Due To Inappropriate Remarks From Greenwich Citizens.

I meant Travis the monkey. He at least could control himself in some situations. Can these idiots do that at all? Let's hope they stay behind bars where they belong.

m.o.n.k.e.y. is censored?

I'm a bigot for expecting people to: behave? Go to bed at a normal time and not disturb their neighbors? Disperse when police tell them to?

you made a comment that sounded really racist for comparing 2 african american kids to travis the chimp you jerk.

Replied

Are they African American? I didn't know that. I'm comparing people who can't behave to chimps, it has nothing to do with their race.

But because you are the expert, can you please explain to me (for future reference) what types of people can/can't be compared to animals?

Can I say, for instance, Michael Phelps is like a fish?

reported:

Flores and Cardenas-Rey are African American? The fact remains that these kids were acting in a manner that other residents of Wilbur Peck called the police, and then in a manner that caused them to be arrested. I think that unappropriate behaviour is the problem here, both at Wilbur Peck and certainly at the courthouse.

Thin Skinned Greenwich Time Managing Editor Bruce Hunter Even Called The Hearst Corporate Law Department In A Failed Effort To Silence A Blogger Who Criticized His Job Performance

But Neither Hearst Newspaper Employee Had The Guts To Confront And Expose The Racists That Often Populate And Comment On Their Message Boards.
Zebora And Hunter Would Never Have The Guts To Report That Some Town Of Greenwich Computers Can't Access The Message Boards, Because Their IP Addresses Have Been Blocked

They Just Quietly Shut Down The Message Boards And Cover Up The Ugly Situation. This Is Standard Operating Procedure At The Greenwich Time.Don't Rock The Boat And Cover Up And Ignore The Under Belly Of Our Fair Town.

That's Why Greenwich Time Managing Editor Bruce Hunter Doesn't Have The Guts To Freedom Of Information Request The Wilbur Peck Surveillance Camera Video Or The Greenwich Police Cruiser Dash Board Video Cameras.

No Wonder Hearst Newspaper's Steven Swartz's "100 Days Of Change" Is Going To Miserably Fail In Greenwich, So Long As Bruce Hunter Is Managing Editor.

ROCKY HILL, Conn. -- High school yearbooks go to print this month across the state, and yearbook advisors are forced to play policemen, watching for students who push the envelope too far.

Just after the senior picture ranks the senior quote. Whether it's a touching song lyric or a persuasive plea for paint, the quote allows students to express themselves how they want -- but it has to be PG-13.....
.....A decade ago, five students at Greenwich High School got national attention for using parts of their senior quotes to spell out a racially threatening message.

But 10 years later, advisors said they're staying vigilant......
.....After all, a yearbook's not like facebook. Unlike the social site, the quotes in the yearbook will be there forever, for future students to laugh at, learn from or look to for guidance.....

When Richard Fulton was a kid, he remembers starting the day at the top of Greenwich Avenue with $10 in hand, hitting all his favorite stores and still having change for lunch by the time he made his way to the bottom.
The charm of the Avenue led him to open a teen clothing and skateboarding shop called Chilly Bear there in 1989. However, after 20 years and numerous changes to the Avenue itself, Fulton is taking his business to Old Greenwich where, he says, rent is cheaper and foot traffic is growing. He will close the doors of his store at 401 Greenwich Ave. after the St. Patrick's Day Parade Sunday and move to 180 Sound Beach Ave.

"Greenwich Avenue used to be the soul of Greenwich," said Fulton, 41, who grew up in town. "In some ways it still is, but in a lot of ways it really isn't anymore."

Hearst just printed the final copy of Seattle Post-Intelligencer last night....
The unprecedented media downturn in the US has claimed yet another casualty – the venerable Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the city's oldest newspaper, has downed shutters on its print edition. From today, it will be the largest daily newspaper in the US to shift to an entirely digital news product only be available on the internet.
Hearst Corp, which owns the 146-year-old P-I, said yesterday that it had failed to find a buyer for the paper. The development was widely expected since 9 January, when Hearst executives said they would put the paper up for sale for 60 days. However, no buyer has emerged during this period. (See: Hearst looking for buyer for Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper)
"Tonight will be the final run, so let's do it right," publisher Roger Oglesby is reported to have told the newsroom. The front page of the final edition featured a headline saying 'You've meant the world to us' and a photo of the 30-foot neon globe atop the P-I's building, which has a slogan rotating around the equator saying, 'It's in the P-I'.
Steven R Swartz, president of Hearst Newspapers, said the online P-I would not just be "a newspaper online – ''It's an effort to craft a new type of digital business with a robust, community news and information Website at its core."
Hearst said the online edition will include some of the newspaper's well-known contributors. However, the vast majority of the P-I's 167 employees, almost all in the news department, are expected to lose their jobs. The online enterprise will have a significantly smaller news staff.
The P-I had 181 employees, but managing editor David McCumber told Reuters that the Website would only employ about 20 in the newsroom operations and another 20 to sell ads. He said he would not be working on the new site.....
