Members of the Board of Estimate and Taxation introduced a number of key oversight measures last night that they said the town should adopt to ensure future construction projects finish on time, a move following the delayed Hamilton Avenue School opening. The BET Audit Committee is recommending that future building projects of at least $5 million be required to have a project manager or owner's representative to oversee their progress, control costs and head-off delays.

November 20, 2007: Inspectors detail Benoit actions - Greenwich Time
Fire Marshal Joseph Benoit several years ago ordered an end to a plan to perform fire inspections on all buildings on Greenwich Avenue, a fire inspector testified yesterday. The initiative was meant to end the high volume of fire calls and related fire code violations on the street, which were monopolizing the time of firefighters and inspectors, Fire Inspector James McDonald said.
