Attempted Bank Robbery in Cos Cob

A man wearing a New York Yankees cap walked into the Cos Cob branch of Chase Bank mid-afternoon Monday and attempted to rob the branch located across the street from the Cos Cob School. According to Greenwich Police, the "lone male entered the Cos Cob branch of the Chase Bank and presented a teller with a demand note" shortly after 3 p.m. Monday, March 9. "The teller did not immediately comply with the demands of the note, and the suspect then left without incident and without any cash.

A postal clerk from Stratford is facing larceny and forgery charges in connection with the theft of postal money orders, according to Greenwich Police. On March 5, detectives applied for and obtained an arrest warrant for the 22-year-old clerk charging her with one count of conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny and six counts of first-degree forgery, according to a police report.
