Got Clams? How About Oysters? You Do in Greenwich

Greenwich shellfishing will be the focus of the First Sunday Science at the Seaside Center program on Sunday, March 1, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Ed Stilwagen of Atlantic Clam Farms and Jadar Nygaard of Hemlock Oyster Company will talk about "Commercial Shellfishing in Greenwich Waters" at 2 p.m. Visitors of all ages are welcome to enjoy a raw bar of oysters and clams and family-oriented activities throughout the afternoon. The activities include microscopic looks inside a clam, exploration of the marine touch tank, and a recreational shellfishing demonstration led by members of the Greenwich Shellfish Commission.

Belle Haven home sells for $26 million

The previous owners of 79 Harbor Drive in Greenwich, purchased this property at 209 Long Neck Point in Darien for $11.2 million, according to the Darien Town Assessor's office. An 11,000 square-foot-mansion in Belle Haven sold for $26 million last week, commanding the top price for any property transaction this year, according to records on file at Greenwich Town Hall.

Second Congregational Church Valentine's Day Benefit Raises $135,000 for Heart Care International

More than 100 people attended the Second Congregational Church's 13th annual Valentine's Gala and helped raise $135,000 to benefit Heart Care International. It was the latest demonstration of the Greenwich church's support for the Greenwich-based nonprofit organization, which provides life-saving heart care procedures for indigent children in underdeveloped countries.

Son charged with stealing $178,000 from Greenwich father

A Madison man was arrested Tuesday by Greenwich police after his sister turned him in to police two months ago for allegedly stealing nearly $180,000 from their 92-year-old father. Thomas Herrmann , 59, of High Hill Circle, Madison, was charged with first-degree larceny, first-degree forgery and criminal impersonation.

Wholey's granddaughter in running for SI's swimsuit 'Rookie of the Year'

This just in, from Lois Wholey, 91-year-old matriarch of the family that owns the fabled Pittsburgh seafood company: her granddaughter, Kelly Wholey Rohrbach, is a "rookie" model in this year's Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. Ms. Rohrbach, 25, grew up in Greenwich, Conn., and graduated from Georgetown University in 2012, where she was a member of the women's golf team.

Byram Couple Is Busted on Drug Charges After Police Seize Nearly a Pound of Pot

A Byram couple is facing numerous drug charges after Greenwich Police investigated "multiple complaints" about drug activity in the New Lebanon School neighborhood. Narcotics Division investigators executed a search warrant for the second-floor apartment of 35 Church St. West late Feb. 13 and arrested the couple who had a seven-week-old baby and a five-year-old inside the apartment, according to a police report.
