Greenwich firm names new co-CEO

Greenwich-based First Reserve, a private equity firm that focuses exclusively on energy, announced Monday that it is appointing Alex T. Krueger as its new co-CEO and president. Krueger, who lives in the Shippan section of Stamford, will join First Reserve's founder William E. Macaulay at the top, as Macaulay continues on as chairman and co-CEO.

'Conjurer to the Stars' Emcee's Fundraiser for New Canaan Country School Program

The Horizons Student Enrichment Program at New Canaan Country School will hold its biennial benefit on Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Greenwich Hyatt beginning at 6:30 p.m. The event is titled "Spotlight on Success" and will feature first-hand success stories of generations of Horizons students and graduates. New Canaan Country School alumnus Ryan Oakes '93 "Conjurer to the Stars" will emcee the event.

Whitby Only Greenwich School to Qualify for 2015 MathCounts State Competition

Whitby School ranked 3rd place at the MATHCOUNTS Southwest Connecticut Chapter Competition , a ranking that will advance Whitby's math team to the State Competition this March. More than 200 Mathletes representing 25+ area schools competed in this year's event, held at Fairfield University on Saturday, February 14. This year Whitby was the only school in Greenwich to qualify for the State competition, beating the teams from Eastern Middle School , Brunswick, Sacred Heart, Greenwich Country Day, Stanwich and Central Middle School.
