Ex-Contrarian Capital Controller Guilty in $9 Million Theft

Lawrence Herzing was arrested Oct. 29 and accused of using his position at Greenwich, Connecticut-based Contrarian to wire $9.2 million to accounts he controlled from 2004 to 2013, Connecticut U.S. Attorney Deirdre M. Daly said in a statement. Police came to the aid of the driver who spun off the road near 777 W. The town of Greenwich is hunkering down as a blizzard slams the East Coast on Monday and drops heavy snow throughout Tuesday. First Selectman Peter Tesei said Town Hall will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 27, and that Eastern Middle School and Bendheim Western Greenwich Civic Center will be on standby as shelters but are not currently open.Both shelters have generators available in the event of power outages from the strong winds.
