Honoring Local Veterans -- Each Greenwich Public School Plans Tributes To Honor Those Who Have Served

In honor of Veterans Day, each Greenwich Public School has planned an event or program to honor those who have served - from the greatest generation of World War II to the current conflicts where U.S. military are assigned. On Tuesday, Nov. 11, as the nation honors veterans for their service to the country, students and staff throughout the Greenwich Public Schools will join the nation in recognizing Veterans for their contributions.

A 21-year-old Ohio man who caught fire on top of a New York City-bound commuter train early Sunday in Greenwich has died, according to Meredith Daniels, a spokeswoman for Metro-North Railroad. It is not known how the man, identified as Brian McClellan, got on top of the train or for what purpose, though there is speculation that he was performing some type of stunt based on daredevil-like photos posted to his Facebook page.

The 21-year-old man from Ohio who was found on fire on the top of a Metro-North train headed from Stamford to Greenwich was in critical condition late Sunday, NBC Connecticut reported. The train lost power at about 5:08 a.m. as it pulled into the Riverside station, NBC said.
