Leona Helmsley Greenwich mansion taken away from the GREAT David Ogilvy & Associates (theoriginalgreenwichdiva)
"It's going to be a friendlier process," are the words that Lyn Stevens of Greenwich Fine Properties used to described how she is planning to handle the listing of the late Leona Helmsley's Greenwich, Connecticut estate. Stevens recently picked up the listing of the 23,000 square-foot house after trustees decided not to renew their contract with David Ogilvy & Associates when it expired. Although Ogilvy lowered the price of the 40-acre estate, which is known as Dunnellen Hall, before it was taken away from him, many experts felt he over priced the Round Hill mansion when he first put it on the market. In early 2008, Ogilvy listed the estate at $125 million then just before it was taken away from him, he lowered it to $60 million. Stevens, however, felt Ogilvy did not drop it low enough. With a new price of $55 million, Stevens says, the home is "really priced appropriately in the market now." Once the estate that has eight double-stacked chimneys, in-door and out-door swimming pools and a 47-foot long reception hall is sold, the proceeds are slated to go to a charitable trust that was set up after Helmsley's death in August 2007. 3 Comments

Hello,My name is Matt Laconte and I am the Field Director for Linda's campaign. I am writing you for three reasons: to see if you are interested in attending the Hartford Courant's U.S. Senate Debate, to keep you updated on the campaign, and to form the volunteer grassroots army that will help Linda win the election!Debate: The debate will be held on Tuesday, March 2 at the University of Hartford's Lincoln Center from 6:30-8:00 PM. This is the debate featuring other Republican candidates for U.S. Senate, including Peter Schiff and Rob Simmons. We want to ensure that Linda has a strong base of supporters there and would love to have you come. Please reply to this email and let me know if you are interested. Space is limited so please be timely in your response.Update:Linda's is not a politician, she's a business women who believes we need to change the ways of Washington. As an outsider, Linda is poised to take on another career politician, Attorney General Dick Blumenthal. Linda has attended over 260 events since she launched her campaign, traveling the state meeting with Republican leaders. As you can imagine, 169 towns makes for a lot of miles even in a small state like Connecticut. Those meetings and events have netted a number of key endorsements from around the state that will help solidify Linda's support this election cycle in a contested primary battle with former Congressman Rob Simmons. Our campaign is very optimistic about our ability to overcome Simmons in the primary and Blumenthal in the General Election. Comment

02/18/10 Superintendent of Schools Sidney Freund Is Trying To Prevent Greenwich Roundup Is Peeling The Smelly BOE Onion Of Fraud Waste And Abuse

Where's The Transparency At The Greenwich Board Of Education?

Greenwich Board Of Education Insider Tells Greenwich Roundup That Anthony Byrne Did Not Submit His Resignation Or File For Administrative Leave Before Being Shown The Door.

Once Again Greenwich Roundup Must File A Connecticut Freedom Of Information Request With The Very Evasive Greenwich Public School Superintendent Sidney Freund.

Greenwich Superintendent Of Schools Sidney Freund Is Once Again Wasting Money Running To Greenwich Town Attorney In An Effort To Prevent The Release Of More Information About How BOE Facilities Director Anthony Byrne Was Placed On Administrative Leave For Three Months.

Greenwich Superintendent Of Schools Sidney Freund's Office Refuses To Admit That Byrne Was "Placed" On Administrative Leave On January 4th And Did Not Resign Or Request Administrative Leave Before The Forth.

Therefore, Greenwich Roundup Has Filed A Second Connecticut Freedom of Information Request For Byrne's Resignation Letter And Any Written Request By Byrne Made To Go On Administrative Leave Before January 4th.

Rumors Around Town Are That Byrne Is Being Protected And Given Special Treatment, Because He Threatened To Rat Out Persons Involved With Frank Mazza's Hamilton Avenue School Committee.

Hearst Newspaper Editor David McCumber Is A Sleep At The Switch As
The Third Rate Greenwich Time Cub Reporter Colin " BOE Brown Nose " Gustafson Lets Greenwich Roundup Uncover The Details Behind BOE Facility Director Anthony Byrne's $30,000 Taxpayer Funded Vacation.

On January 4th A Key Figure In The 30 Million Dollar Hamilton Avenue School Fiasco Was Given His Walking Papers By Greenwich Superintendent Of Schools Sidney Freund, But The Out Of Touch Mainstream Local Media Did Not Get A BOE Press Release.

For Three Weeks In January Concerned Greenwich Parents Went To The Greenwich Time And Other Local Media Outlets With Rumors About Anthony Byrne Losing His Big Fat $120,000 Job.

Then Parents And Taxpayers Came
To Greenwich Roundup And
Started Getting Results:

The Greenwich Time Listens:

Greenwich Time Cub Reporter Colin "BOE BROWN NOSE" Gustafson Starts To Ask questions About Tony Byrne, But Hits A Stone Wall With The Powers That Be

By Colin Gustafson, STAFF WRITER

Would Someone Tell The Greenwich Time Reporter That
Anthony Byrne Is Paid Off And Gone.

Gustafson Doesn't Understand That Byrne Is Persona Non Grata At The BOE Headquarters

The Third Rate Greenwich Time Cub Reporter Colin " BOE Brown Nose " Gustafson Is Totally Clueless And Can't Grasp The Idea That Byrne Is Ostracized And Therefore Is Unable To Do An Investigative Report About The Fraud Waste And Abuse At The Greenwich BOE.

Soon The BOE Cover Up
Started To Unravel In Other
Mainstream Outlets

02/05/10 He Said She Said At The Board Of Ed

Often Times The Coverup Is Worse Than The Crime
He Said:
“It has come to my attention that the news media has been provided with false and/or misleading information regarding Anthony Byrne’s employment status with the board,” Dr. Freund said in his statement. “Mr. Byrne is currently on leave pending a voluntary retirement when he reaches eligibility effective April 1, 2010. Mr. Byrne has not been terminated and there has been no finding that he engaged in any misconduct in the course of his employment by the board.”

She Said:
According to district Director of Communications Kim Eves, Mr. Byrne was placed on leave with pay Jan. 4.

He Clamed Up:
Asked why he was placed on leave, Dr. Freund said he couldn’t comment because it is a personnel matter.

Mr. Byrne was responsible for helping chose contractors for school construction and maintenance.

The Post received unconfirmed reports last week that Mr. Byrne had been removed from his position due to allegations of receiving payments in connection with the construction of the new Hamilton Avenue School and the modular classrooms at Western Middle School, both of which proved to be controversial projects. Parents complained about shoddy construction and placement of the modulars, which eventually had to be closed and remediated after high levels of mold were discovered, and the school construction was years behind schedule and over budget.

But It Was Greenwich Roundup Who Filed A CT FOI Request And Went Through Hell As The Greenwich Time Silently Sat By And Ignored The Fraud Waste And Abuse That Is Hurting The Town's Children.

But When It Was Said And Done
Greenwich Roundup Got The January 4th
Memos About Anthony Byrne

The Memos Show That Greenwich Administrators Were Caught Off Guard By Byrne's Sudden And Unexpected Departure.

Now Once Again The Clock Is Ticking On Greenwich Public School Superintendent Sidney Freund Has About 28 Hours To Admit That BOE Facilities Director Did Not Submit A Letter Of Resignation Or Request Administrative Leave Before January 4th.

Otherwise, Greenwich Public School Superintendent Sidney Freund Will Be Sued By The State of Connecticut - Freedom of Information Commission And Forced To Produce The The Public Documents Requested.
Then Freund Will Get A Criminal Record Like Former Greenwich First Selectman Jim Lash Got.
Moreover, Greenwich Roundup Is Going To Exercise His Right To Request To Ask That Greenwich Public School Superintendent Sidney Freund Be Fined For Wiyholding Public Documents.
The CT Freedom of Information Commission fined Hartford city attorney Carl Nasto $400 for withholding documents from the public. The city argued the case for over a year, insisting that Nasto was correct to withhold the documents, but in July 2008 a judge upheld the original ruling.
