Port Chester man's head is smashed into eatery window during argument

Lower Hudson Journal news, West Harrison NY

PORT CHESTER - A Port Chester man had his head shoved into a restaurant window during an argument last night, police said. A 55-year-old Port Chester man was charged in the incident.

Lt. James Ladeairous gave this account:

Pedro Antonio Donis, 55, of 79 S. Regent St. in Port Chester, approached a 22-year-old man sitting inside the Hollywood Chicken restaurant, 216 Westchester Ave.

An argument between the two men led Donis to push the victim, and the younger man's head hit and broke one of the restaurant windows.

The victim was sent to Greenwich Hospital for evaluation for head pain; he was not cut. Ladeairous had no update today on his condition.

Donis was charged with attempted third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief, misdemeanors. The mischief charge stemmed from the breaking of the $600 window.

Donis made $250 bail and is due in Port Chester Village Court on June 29.

06/21/09 Greenwich Roundup is still cleaning up after the heavy rainstorms

Greenwich Roundup is currently dealing with the extensive damage of flooded rooms at his home caused by Thursday’s downpour of rain.

Greenwich Roundup has been pumping out water and disinfecting floors in his flooded basement. Damaged items are being thrown away.

Since there was more rain this weekend things have not improved much.

Unfortunately, there is more rain in the forecast.

Greenwich Roundup will catch up on his blog posts very soon.

The Greenwich Advocate? – Our Greenwich
By Frank Trotta
The other morning I noticed the masthead on the paper in the Greenwich Time box in front of St. Mary’s on the Avenue said “Advocate.”

The first thought that crossed my mind was “they are coming out of the closet” — that the Southern Connecticut Newspapers, Inc. company was admitting, finally, that the difference between the Stamford Advocate and the Greenwich Time was merely cosmetic — like the difference between a Ford Crown Vic and a Mercury Grand Marquis: same car, different grill.

Well, it turns out the Advocate in the green box in front of St. Mary’s was a delivery error. The charade of a truly Greenwich daily continues, at least for now. But the readers know, Greenwich Time = Stamford Advocate = Norwalk Advocate = Connecticut Post = Danbury News Times. .....
